Jim Whitney leads Conway MacKenzie & Dunleavy’s (“CMD”)
business development and marketing functions. His fifteen years
of experience in corporate restructuring, from strategy
development and hands-on execution through principal capital
deployment in distressed situations, provides him with
unparalleled institutional knowledge of the industry. Coupled
with his vast professional network and proven ability to
navigate complex business relationships, Mr. Whitney excels at
developing strategies to secure engagements across the firm’s
broad spectrum of services.
Prior to joining CM&D, Mr. Whitney was Director of
Acquisitions at Denver-based Summit Investment Management, a
hedge fund-backed investment company. In addition to opening the
firm’s first satellite office, his primary responsibilities
included sourcing investment opportunities, performing financial
and operational due diligence and structuring transactions. Mr.
Whitney also spent twelve years at AlixPartners, an
international turnaround consulting firm where he established a
dedicated business development function, and helped lead a
number of the firm’s most successful engagements, including
Phar-Mor, National Car Rental and Ryder System.
Mr. Whitney earned a Masters of Business Administration from
the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts degree from
Dartmouth College. He is also a member of various
industry-specific trade associations. |
